Preventative Maintenance

Miller-Morgan provides a preventative maintenance program that assesses your water system and keeps it running efficiently. This is offered to our customers at a reasonable monthly rate with and without pre-treatment equipment. The cost of salt and other chemicals is extra. The following is a list of preventative maintenance measures included in the monthly program for Reverse Osmosis systems. What is the Purpose of the Tests We Do?

*Unit should be re-bed a minimum of every two years

Change pre-filter monthly

Increases life of membrane and systems work more efficiently if pre-treated

Flush membrane

By flushing and rotating the membrane on a monthly basis, the operating life of the most expensive and important filtration portion of the RO system is extended.

Treat holding tank with chlorine tablets

Treats build-up of algae caused by sunlight and heat
*Tank should be cleaned/sanitized yearly

Pressure differential testing

Assesses membrane efficiency

Pressure switches testing

Prevents pump cycling/pump failure

Pressure tanks testing

Prevents pump cycling/pump failure

Variable frequency drives testing, if applicable

Checks voltage

Pressure gauge operation testing

Tests equipment operation performance

Pump testing

Checks voltage and operational pressure

  • Media cleanse-monthly or quarterly depending on quality of water
  • Control valve operation

  • Clean brine tank, quarterly

Brine tank

  • Add salt, Res-Up or citric acid, Iron Out
  • Clean and sanitize, quarterly

Chemical pump/solution tank, if applicable

  • Add chlorine or potassium permanganate

Sulfur filter, if applicable

  • Media cleanse monthly/quarterly depending on quality of water
  • Control valve operation
  • Screens
  • Flow and pressure drops
  • Salt settings
  • Clean brine tank, quarterly

Water test and report monthly

Wash down equipment and pad
